The 1st Korea AI International Film Festival(K-AIFF) selects 26 films to advance to the finals

○ This event will be held at KINTEX in Goyang-si on October 25th, and the grand prize and special awards will be announced.
○ On the day of the event, discussions on AI technology, talks with the directors of the award-winning films, and screenings of the winning films are scheduled.

The 26 films that advanced to the finals of the ‘1st Korea AI International Film Festival’ hosted by Gyeonggi Province and organized by the Gyeonggi Creative Content Agency have been revealed.

The ‘Korea AI International Film Festival’ is Korea’s first and largest AI international film festival that explores ‘new creative opportunities’ using generative Artificial Intelligence technology. It was designed to support the creation of various video contents using AI.

At this AI Film Festival, a total of 2,067 works were received in four categories: ▲Narrative ▲Documentary ▲Art & Culture ▲Freeform, and 26 films that advanced to the finals competed for 1st to 3rd place in each field, including the grand prize and special award.

The grand prize winner with a prize of 20 million won will be announced and awarded at the event held at KINTEX on the October 25th.

Jury Chairman Jeon Chan-il(film critic), who was in charge of judging the ‘K-AIFF’, said through this screening, “Over the past few months, the quality of video expression using AI has improved significantly. In particular, there has been progress in expressing characters and backgrounds with continuity. Looking at the entries made with AI, I saw the possibility of creating a high-quality movie with a high level of story probability.” he said.

On the day of the AI Film Festival event, various side events will be held, including AI technology on ‘opportunities in content brought by AI’, a conference in the content field, a conversation(GV) with the director of the award-winning film, and a screening of the award-winning film.

Speakers at the conference include ▲KAIST Professor Daesik Kim in the field of AI technology ▲Fred Grinstein, CEO of Terremoto Content Inc., who also directs AI documentaries in the field of AI media ▲Minjae Kim, director of NC Soft AI Tech Center in the field of AI content Participate.
